Fermented Cranberry Sauce
I have been wanting to play around with a fermented cranberry sauce recipe and finally got around to it this morning. My mother in law had a jar of cranberries and honey she had been fermenting for quite some time in her fridge. It was the perfect base to mix with my recipe.
Violet and I tried smashing them by hand but ended up using my blender stick.
It made the process super easy and fast.
Here is the recipe.
One jar of cranberries and honey ( already fermented )
If you don't have a base just use 1/3 cup whey
Next we added
12 ounces of organic cranberries
1/4 cup honey
1 tsp. sea salt
1/2 cup organic apple cider
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 of a fresh squeezed orange
And that is it.
We left the sauce on the counter for only a few hours and moved it to the refrigerator since it was already fermented. This makes a wonderful side for Thanksgiving that is full of vitamin C, fiber, antioxidants, and provides your family with a easily digested probiotic condiment.
Happy Cooking.
