A symbol of Christmas.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging,
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging,
Not only green when summer's here,
But also when 'tis cold and drear

Isn't our Colorado Christmas tree so beautiful this year? She is planted in our front yard and stays there with every season. Since we will be back in California for Christmas, we decided to just admire the beautiful tree that is outside of our home rather than buying one for our living room. This tree is one of my favorite parts of our landscaping and it has inspired me to do something a little different this year.
For the past few years we have had a tradition of scouting and cutting down our Christmas tree with our best friends. They have been so generous to invite us up to their property in the woods year after year. It is a special time filled with hot coco, hunting for the perfect tree, falling the tree, carry out the giants trees:) and sometimes even a little snow. This year we were absent from that tradition but I look forward to the years to come as more kiddos join the memories.

In less than two weeks we will be in California and I plan on visiting a local nursery to purchase a small potted Christmas tree. Arriving only two weeks before Christmas and my husband coming 4 days before Christmas I have decided to put up a small low mantinence tree. One that we can plant in our front yard after Christmas just like the one in Colorado.  As the tree grows through the seasons I hope it will  remind us that we need to celebrate the birth of Jesus everyday not just Christmas.

I am sure that tree will also bring us back to the sweet memories we are currently making as we rest here in Colorado.
