Craft Crazy and a burlap seat.

Craft crazy would pretty much describe my living room and kitchen at the moment. I have a total of six craft projects going right now but have come to a screeching holt because I need Mr. Hubby man to help me with the finishing touches.  I mean, I am perfectly capable of hanging things and using tools on my own but it gets under his skin.  It just bothers him to see stuff hung on the wall not in a stud and he can't stand me using tools, that is his department:)   Anyways, he has agreed to help me this weekend:)  Yippee!!   I have decided to reveal one project which I was trying to hold off on posting because what I would call "the icing on the cake" isn't complete yet.  Here is a little preview of the spiced up music corner.  I hope to post the finished look this weekend.

This particular craft project was recovering the piano stool.  The cost = FREE and the labor took about 5 minutes.  I made my way over to a local coffee shop in hopes of purchasing some of their used coffee bean bags.  To my surprise they blessed me with about 10 for free:)
The supplies used on this project were: a staple gun and staples, scissors, a screw driver, and a piece of burlap.  I unscrewed the legs and then covered and stapled the fabric to the bottom of the seat.
Simple as that.

I love burlap.

Weekend in the Mountains.

This weekend we made our way up to the mountains for a Winter Retreat.  The hubby was asked to lead worship for a junior high retreat and he was able to bring us along this time.  YEAH for family time and fellowship with little people.  It snowed the first night we were there and was absolutely beautiful when we woke up.  The weekend was refreshing and exhausting all at the same time, going anywhere with toddlers is always a bit more work but worth it:)

The kids enjoyed playing and being somewhere other than our home.

Lots and lots of worship.  It was awesome.

We ate a good amount of yummy food and I particularly enjoyed not cooking for a couple days  This was out side of the cafe.

Slide time.

The only downside to this activity is the hill back to the top was giant.  I guess it helped with all the food we ate.

The theme of the weekend was ONE WAY... JESUS.  Isn't that the truth!

Its the small things.

"Sometimes" said Pooh, "the smallest things take up the most room in your heart."

Oh Violet you are getting so big but are still my little baby.  I just love hearing you call for "Mommy" when your done taking your nap.  You fill my heart with so much JOY sweet "baby" girl.
I love being your Mommy.

He is the King of Glory!

Psalm 24
Jason wrote his first Worship song last weekend.  It is rooted from Psalm 24 and is a very spirit filled song.  There is something so powerful about singing Gods words, proclaiming his truth.  Psalm 24:10 reads "Who is this King of Glory? The Lord of Hosts, He is the King of Glory."
We hope to do a little video to it here when we get some time, actually when he gets some time.  That hubby of mine is a busy busy man:)

More pre-school FUN.

Here is a little peek at what we have been up to for the first part of our week.  It is snowy and cold here so inside is where we stay.  I have been finding lots of fun preschool craft ideas on Pinterest.   I hope you enjoy some of our activities, feel free to try these with you kiddos:)

This first picture is from our fishing for numbers activity.  I chose to do numbers 10 - 20 because he is already great at recognizing 1 -10.  He would fish for the numbers I asked him to find.  I made the fish from felt with a magnet on the tail and another magnet on the end of the yarn fishing line.  He enjoyed this fishing game.

Ryden is really into science activities lately.  First it was the sink or float activity and today we moved on to magnetic or not magnetic.

Measuring the snow :)
A little math talk and season talk.

More math.  I numbered the bottom of this egg create and he had to count out the correct amount of buttons and then place in each slot.  This took him awhile;)

Letters.  He practiced writing letters in the salt.

This is the spot we created to do school.  He does some here and some of it on the kitchen table depending on our mood:)
